Dev the Moderator
I _would_ totally abuse my power, but I figure the reaction from the theists will be worth all the time spent cleaning up spam in and of itself. :) Hi theists. I realize from your perspective, this means I've been given all kinds of authority and privileges that you don't have. I normally try to dispel this myth, but as a moderator I now feel it is... more »

Theists and the Consequences of Theism
Since some worthless creatures don't understand the point of analogies (namely, that they're supposed to have a point, and not just distract from the point) let's have an analogy-free discussion of whether theists are responsible for the consequences of what they perpetuate. In order for theists to not be responsible for the consequences of... more »

Superstitions
I do not believe that a personal god exists, and believe than nothing exists in the universe which does not have to obey laws of nature. I'm skeptical of all claims of miracles and the supernatural. In spite of all this, I can't help but have superstitious thoughts from time to time. They bear no relation to any belief system or dogma, although... more »

How not to play hide and seek
ok it would seem to be a little ot but some of the atheists don't seem to understand this so i have to use this analogy to spell it out. when you play hide and seek and you are trying to hide, it is not a good idea to run into a corner, put head phones over your ears and cover your eyes with your own hands.... more »

Small question I have: Do you think people are searching for alien life in the wrong places?
What I mean by trying to search in other solar systems and parts of the universe. Why not try to search for them here in our Solar System. It has barely been explored, and there is so much waiting for us just in our backyards, so I am wondering, do you think it is the right thing to search so far or should we look a little closer?... more »

Quote from the "reverend."
Logic quote from the "reverend" Rick Warren. I'm a pastor, I'm not a prophet, so I would not predict how evangelicals are going to vote. I will tell you they're not monolith. That's a big myth. They're going to make up their minds based on the hierarchy of their values. For many evangelicals, of course, if they believe that life begins at conception,... more »

Question for atheists...
If you were raised as a theist, into which religion and denomination did you belong? And for how long did it last? Just interested and curious...
