Atheists: tips for doing battle with evil christians
Prosyletizing. Not all christians want to convert you. Some do, others don't. So if it's your first post to a christian you haven't met before, you might not want to preface it with a "you want me to believe...." or "why should I believe...." Perhaps that particular christian doesn't care at all what you believe.
Jesus' existence If you think that Jesus did not exist, at least acknowledge that this is a minority opinion among professional historians, and that there are in fact reasonable grounds for believing that such a person did exist.
Morality Please don't drag out the story of your aunt/niece/pastor/ex spouse, who was a christian and a rotten person. No reasonable person would conclude from this that God does not exist, so leave it at home.
Burden of Proof Statements of fact are subject to emperical verification. Statements of faith, like statements of opinionor of personal taste, are not subject to that kind of verification because they are by their nature subjective and personal. The burden of proof, then, is not on the person making the claim - it is on the person making a statement of fact.
