Subject: FIREFOX 3.0 CUT AND PASTE GMAIL PROBLEM REDUX
Yes, another thread about Firefox/Gmail cut/paste dilemma.

I tried everything Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V, scripts, extensions, etc., etc. to
no avail.

I am determined not to revert back to IE 7.0 but I can't be without
this basic function.  (It's tough enough dealing with gmail rich
formatting hassle now this).

The closest I come is the workaround a group member offered about
using google toolbar for firefox (right click picture, SEND TO->gmail,
etc.).  Problem is that it copies and pastes entire page not just
image.

Any help for keeping a 1/2 second routine under 10 minutes most
appreciated.

Thanks in advance for all ideas.

What version of Firefox are you using?

What is the copy problem you have having?  I can copy with FF2 and
Gmail.

FIREFOX 3.0

When I copy and paste any images and most text I receive a small empty
box icon instead of the expected text/image.

To make matters more complicated (and frustrating) is that sometimes
if I fool around and select just part of the text, document, one image
when there are more than one, etc. I am able to work around the
problem.  It is hit and miss and before reverting back to the evil
(but sometimes necessary MSFT) I thought perhaps someone could come to
the rescue.

BTW, if you check other threads on this and other tech. forums you
will see that I am not alone with this issue.

Thanks in advance.
K

I have the same issue with FF, and I figure I'll show an example of
what happens when I try to paste. Below is a beautiful picture of Lynn
Woods although it could be any image, use your imagination to pick the
one image in the world you'd like to see most, and here it is:

There. Isn't that exciting?  Like the professor, I can't fool around
wasting time on this, and since I often use Linux, IE isn't always an
option.

Alas of such minor issues are choices in technology made. Someone
should fix this in FF/gmail or document a solution rather than saying
the problem doesn't exist.

Reading between the lines, I think you are trying to tell us that you
cannot paste images into the Gmail message composition screen.
That is true, and is a known limitation.  You can get around it with a
desktop client.  Thunderbird and Evolution both support it, and work
well with Gmail's IMAP server.

You can suggest better support for inserting images here:
