Subject: Slow Load of Gmail Client on Symbian Series 3 (Nokia E61, N95, etc.)
I have installed, uninstalled, and reinstalled the Gmail client on my
Nokia N95 several times.  Each time the same problem occurs.  Within a
few days after installing it, the time between selecting the
application and its actual start (load time) becomes longer and longer
until the time delay is intolerable (up to 3 minutes).  I have sent
customer feedback directly to Google about the problem.  I have
noticed in the Mobile Help Group there are other postings from as
early as the beginning of this year so I am confident I am not the
only person experiencing this problem.  Does anybody know if Google is
doing anything to resolve this bug????

I have exactly the same problem. After fresh N95 install, Gmail loads
up quickly. But each time you use it, it gets  SLOWER and SLOWER! A
few weeks later, I'm waiting 5 minutes for this damn thing to load
up!

There's a bug in the Gmail application that INCREMENTALLY ADDS LOAD
TIME to the loading process.

IS ANYBODY FROM GOOGLE LISTENING???

i too am frustrated with the limited  gmail app for mobiles.... from
ridiculously long load times, lost connections, and the infuriating no
spell check, and no autorefresh...

may i suggest using either the native WAP browser, or operamini, or
maybe try out skyfire, if you can... none can replace the full
experience of using a true email client ,ie OUTLOOK, but it's close to
what you get from using the web based client...

we must remember what google charges it's users for the services
provided... i don't know about you, but i've yet to receive a bill..

I have the same problem on my N95.  Gmail used to work just fine, now
it is intolerably slow.  I also get a lot of 404 and Java errors when
I am sending mail.  I'm ready to uninstall and get my mail another
way.

Since it used to work, I wonder if there is a conflict with other
applications I have installed. Shozu and Adaptxt are possible suspects
because they run in the background, but I have disabled them and still
seem to have Gmail problems.

Same problem for me N95 8gb. It solved itself after upgrading my
firmware from v15 to 30.0.018. It takes a few seconds to start but it
is not getting slower...

i've been experiencing the same issue for the last few months and then
thought to check online for an answer and found this page.

i've recently installed emoze which has been working perfectly for me,
it also provides push email from gmail, and best of all is free!

the downside is it looks like it only stores emails that have been
received while the app has been running in the background on my n95...
i can't access any older mails in my inbox.

cheers, jono
