Just a comment,
Either tech support here gets no emails, has a mail client he/she
uses, or has no concept of organizing files into folders, to
prioritize the response to the emails rcvd. I just came over to
GMail, having same primary email since 1998, and used to get over
2,000 mails daily, so could not possibly get to all of them. Had to
have a client that would process the bulk by automation (80%).
What I think is needed is an actual email client, where, like Outlook
Express (a good client but can't save/backup files, rules do not work
well, and loose too much when it goes out), where you can make folders
for organizing, apply sorting rules to automate sorting to your
folders, create distribution lists, etc. I personally use Pegasus
Mail a free client. Best client out there is Eudorabut have to pay
for Eudora. Thunderbird, by FireFox, is a good alternative. It
replaced the old NetScape, after AOL swallowed up NetScape.
Since Gmail allows you to POP3 and IMAP to your online account, the
local mail client can get your emails, download and organize them. If
you chose the "leave on server" option in both your client and GMail
options, then you never have to worry about backups, except for
extremely old important mail, such as legal proof/track for billing or
resolutions. Then you need to invest in a backup for you computer to
insure you have those.
