Discuss the Google Maps API, which lets developers embed Google Maps in their own web pages with JavaScript. If you'd like to troubleshoot your development of the API, please remember the following: - Post a link, not a code snippet so that others can see your code in its proper context. - Search the Group, chances are someone else has had the same issue. - Make use of published documentation at http://www.google.com/apis/maps/documentation/

Given a map, having to display a large amount of polygons (e.g. zip
areas, district borders) with varying zooms and GPolygon already
considered to not perform good enough: What would be your preferred way
to achieve this?
Encoded Polylines? Tile Layer Overlays? Layers? Custom Overlays? Polygonzo?

My client is continually getting this error that GClientGeocoder is
null, undefined or not an object. I am wondering if they have reached
the geocode request limit and are blocked. I think they may use a
proxy server.

How can I test for this? I have GEvent.addListener(geocoder, "error",
handleErrors); in my code. Would this give me the 620 message if they

 Hello!

I am tiddling with some new code I found and I cannot get any of the
clusterer tutorials to work on my map.

I've used Jef Poskanzer's and also have tried Martin Pearman's to no
avail. These are both wonderful tools, but I am at a loss to try and
get them to work with this type of map code.

I have heard from one of my teachers in university that it is now
possible to use the API without the key you had to aquire from
Google. Is it true? I can't seem to find any answer on the
internet...

Any link would be of help

thanks..

This might be a strange question but I thought the collective wisdom
of the group would help.

I'm in need of a tile server that can serve up images via http. I'm
looking for something like the following:

[link]...

where x & y are the co-ordinates and z is the altitude.

The map should be 900 x 300 px and yet only the small box
i mentioned is displayed with the rest of the area being gray.
