Out here, blackberries and poison oak are soul-mates. You'd think that
the stickers would be a high enough price to pay.

It's interesting that in a city of 800K people, and really only a few
good blackberry patches, it's not hard to find nice bunches of plump
berries. Everybody else must get theirs at Safeway.

Oh, the pie is good. 2 cups blackberries, a few left-over blueberries,
one cup sugar, juice of a small lemon, a little cinnamon and vanilla,
a few dabs of butter.
