What is the first word that comes to your mind when you hear ‘Dadagiri’ ? Rowdism? Swearing? Well, it could probably end up being a synonym for fight against terrorism. Confused? Read on…….
UTV Bindass which hosts many youth-oriented shows like Dreamride, Street Dance, Emotional Atyachaar etc. has come out with the 3rd Season of Popular show Dadagiri. However here’s the twist. The adventure-based show will be providing commando training ! Titled ‘D3 Commando Force : Dadagiri Against Terrorism’, this show – which would go on air from 8th May- will require the selected contestants to go through various rigorous rounds of army training procedures. Nikhil Gandhi, Business Head of UTV Bindass stated in an interview , “The show will be the first of its kind reality show on Indian television to use real weapons, tactics and discipline of military units. Contestants will be trained by ex-commandos of the Indian Army. The selection processes for the participants are similar to what a person has to go through to get into the Indian army.”
As for now, after grueling auditions held in Mumbai, Delhi and Lucknow were completed, 14 participants have been selected who will take part in the numerous tasks that will be put before them. And it’s not just the pattern which has undergone a change. This season will see popular TV actor and VJ Vivan Bhatena as a co-host along with Vishal. Commenting on the show Vivan said that D3 will have less of swearing and abusing. Giving the journos a glimpse of the tasks he said, “ The contestants will have to crawl through a low trench of barbed wire. They also have to do jumping, balancing, climbing. One of the important exercises is rope exercise which is used to built upper body strength.” Also the participants will have to undergo weapon training, rock climbing and a horde of other things as well.
Surely a unique and interesting concept. But only time will tell whether the audience will digest the ‘Dadagiri’ of this season.
