It's confirmed: Rani Mukherjee is pregnant, expecting her first child in January 2016

Over the past couple of weeks, there have been many rumours about whether or not Rani Mukherjee is pregnant. In fact, not a lot as been heard about her personal life since she and Yash Raj Films head honcho Aditya Chopra tied the knot in a quiet ceremony in April 2014.

However, Rani’s sister Jyoti Mukherjee, confirmed the news to Mumbai Mirror : “Yes, Rani is pregnant,” she said.

The report states that she is expecting her child in January 2016, and also adds that she is currently travelling with Chopra and was also spotted by a fan in London getting a pre-natal spa massage.

Rani had said in an interview in July this year, she saw herself doing “kick-ass films” and having “lovely babies beside me as I go to the set” in five years.

She also added that she was not interested in doing the roles she did earlier in her career, “It’s embarrassing for a 37-year-old to do the roles she did in her twenties,“said Rani to India Today , “I’m not delusional. I’m conscious of what the audience wants to see me in.”

Rani Mukherjee’s last film was Pradeep Sarkar’s Mardaani, which hit the theatres in August 2014.
