KRIS GETHIN ON HRITHIK ROSHAN'S FITNESS REGIME FOR FIGHTER

“Hrithik is extremely dedicated and focused when it comes to his workouts. He takes his schedule very seriously, which is why I’m also very hands-on myself when it comes to Hrithik. Even when it comes to the songs where he has to go topless, I’m myself present on set to make slight adjustments in the diet or the workout, if need be, and making sure we are monitoring the macros, pumping up, utilising the glycogen and the list goes on,” Kris told IndiaToday.in.

When we asked Kris Gethin to share what an ideal day in Hrithik’s life looked like while he was prepping for Fighter, he shared, “Everybody just sees success but before and after there is just so much sacrifice. Hrithik makes it look easier on screen, but he’s done way more preparation prior to that. It’s easier for people to say it’s genetics."

“A lot depends on whether Hrithik is shooting during the day or night. But let’s say if he’s shooting during the day, then we start as early as 5 or 6 am. Hrithik has his breakfast and he hits the gym forty-five minutes after that. The workouts won’t take any longer, it’s usually about an hour or so. It’s very short but it’s intense and extremely difficult. It’s usually five days a week of weight training depending upon his sleep schedule. If his sleep is good, then it’s five days or else four days as recovery is very important as it enhances performance," Kris told us.

HRITHIK'S FOOD INTAKE

Speaking of his diet, Kris Gethin shared, “Hrithik usually has 6-7 meals in intervals, but if he can’t eat as often, then we are drinking it in the form of shakes, but we usually try to go for whole foods whenever possible. He will do cardio once a day or sometimes even twice a day, depending upon how far we are into the process of how he has to look for the part. That could be in the form of running, elliptical, stair master rower, swimming, but we keep changing it up."

"Sometimes, it’s functional workout like boxing, kettlebell work, battle ropes, and plyometric, ensuring we follow a holistic approach to achieve the desired results and that’s usually for about 30 minutes. Also, Hrithik’s nighttime is like at 9 PM and not later than that. It doesn’t matter if you’re tired, but we cannot miss out on the workouts as sometimes we just have 12 weeks to achieve that look. So, consistency is crucial. Moreover, his diet includes egg whites, chicken, whey protein, fish along with sources of complex carbohydrates like oats, quinoa, rice and sweet potato,” Kris Gethin signed off.

Hrithik Roshan will soon be seen in Siddharth Anand directorial, Fighter, alongside Deepika Padukone. The film, also starring Anil Kapoor, releases in cinemas on January 25.
