She got her first break at the age of 14 while she was working as a waitress at a local restaurant in Mexico, a fashion designer, Marcos Toledo, offered her a modelling job.

Barbara made her acting debut in the Mexican TV series ‘Al Norte del Corazón’ in 1996. The following year, she participated in the comedy series ‘Tic Tac’ and played a role in the smash TV-hit ‘Mirada de Mujer’.

In 1998, when she was 19, she met actor Sergio Mayer. The two had a son together but never got married. In the same year, she played the lead role Azul in the series ‘Azul Tequila,’ opposite Mauricio Ochmann.

Barbara Mori was diagnosed with an early stage of breast cancer. She shared her ordeal with the audiences in a docu-drama titled ‘1 a Minute', which was released in 2010, in the US and in India.

Barbara made her Bollywood debut with producer Rakesh Roshan’s film ‘Kites,’ opposite Hrithik Roshan.
