Located within the Jio World Centre in Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai, the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) is established to display the sensory journey of India’s rich cultural and artistic history through music, theatre, art and crafts. The first-of-its-kind, multi-disciplinary space was inaugurated with much aplomb, featuring panel talks, musical performances and much more. A stellar line-up of Hollywood and Bollywood stars Nick Jonas, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Shraddha Kapoor and the likes graced the events. Exquisite design, cultural archetypes and gorgeous outfits encapsulated the star-studded opening. Paying a delightful visit was Madhuri Dixit Nene, who strutted in a metallic Tarun Tahiliani. Take a closer look at her outfit below.

Madhuri Dixit Nene’s separates feature an interplay of crafts and textiles.

Accompanied by her husband Dr Shriram Nene on the pink carpet at the fashion-forward fiesta, Madhuri Dixit Nene celebrated Indian savoir-faire by arriving in an all-eyes-on-me outfit by Tarun Tahiliani. Her three-piece pale gold ensemble comprised a charmeuse gilet and tulle blouse and pants, all generously doused in a mélange of intricate handwork. According to the veteran couturier, “the gilet is designed with an ogee pattern and is intricately embroidered with aari, zardozi, and pittha threadwork. It is then highlighted with gota and Swarovski crystals, and paired with a crystalised bustier with fringe detailing. A pair of wide-legged pants with a matching pattern complements the ensemble.” The result is an India modern look that brings the best of contemporary and classic silhouettes together.

Adding further dazzle to her look was her choice of jewels, all encrusted with uncut diamonds and coloured stones. A statement-making, multi-layered necklace by Birdhichand Ghanshyamdas, stud earrings and hand stack by Shri Paramani Jewels and rings by Birdhichand Ghanshyamdas, Anmol Jewellers and Falguni Mehta made her accessory look. A mini bag by Doux Amour-Bespoke Accessories rounded its look. Beauty-wise, she kept it effortless and elegant in a ponytail and au natural makeup.

The best part about the star’s three-piece set is its versatility. You can maximise its wearability for a traditional ceremony just as easily as you can style it for a formal occasion. The sharara style pants can be worn with a modest kurta, while the gilet can work with high-waisted pants. Team the metallic blouse with any solid colour sari in your stash.
