Stellar actor, graceful dancer and bonafide star: Madhuri Dixit Nene is all this and more. She’s been Bollywood’s queen of hearts for over three decades, and looking at her following on Instagram (24.8M at last count), it's safe to say that  the actor could still give any millennial a run for their money.

Thanks to her strong social media game, we’re often privy to Dixit Nene's timeless style on the gram. A great beauty with a mega-watt smile, Madhuri Dixit Nene exudes old world charm. It’s no secret that she loves a good classic, and what could be more fitting than a sari? A traditional weave, an elegant updo and timeless jewellery pieces—that’s her wedding style in a nutshell. The repertoire of labels in her Indian wear closet include Manish Malhotra, Ritu Kumar, Anita Dongre, Tarun Tahiliani and Anju Modi, to name a few.

Each time we’ve spotted the star at a wedding, she’s seen making a case for Indian handlooms. For a wedding in December 2019, she opted for a striking maroon Benarasi silk. The richly-hued drape featured floral motifs in gold thread, and an ornate gold border. The look was finished with uncut diamond jewellery and flowers in the hair, giving the actor a regal look.

As far as her traditional saris are concerned, Dixit Nene also noticeably has a penchant for vibrant hues. For another wedding, it was a bright pink Ritu Kumar silk sari with a matching blouse and statement traditional earrings. On another occasion, her pick was a rich, red brocade sari, paired with chaandbalis. Her collection also includes more contemporary saris in sheer fabrics with embellishment and the works. Once in a while, the actor also likes experimenting with her silhouettes—so on one occasion she may choose be an anarkali, while on another she may go for a princess-like gown, like the one she was seen wearing for Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja's wedding reception.

Just like her classic taste in saris, Madhuri Dixit Nene's choice in jewellery too veers towards timeless pieces. For weddings, she’s often seen going with traditional polki creations. While her statement necklaces and earrings are a given, she also often adds studded bangles to her ensembles. Paired with her signature smile, the star never fails to deliver a memorable look.
