While cotton is great at absorbing moisture, it also locks them in, causing a rise in body temperature and thus generating even more sweat. Instead, choose those made with natural fibres — for example, linen and merino wool — as they are both breathable and lightweight, or performance fabrics technologically enhanced with quick-drying or moisture-wicking qualities. Of course, wearing a lighter colour also helps, as it reflects light and heat.
