Extremely poor lid design
· Review provided by hydroflask.com · June 10, 2024
Simply avoid.

The poorly designed lid means the gasket seal between the lid and the main body is housed inside a small inaccessible slot which make it almost impossible to insert correctly after every cleaning cycle. As a result the lid is either leaking, or it takes 15 mins of your morning routine to keep trying to eventually get the gasket into the right position. For anyone commuting to work on a tight schedule, this product is simply not fit for purpose.

Also, my flask is in a pink color not listed here and the paint coating as gradually dissolved away over multiple wash cycles, not nice to be finding flakes of paint showing up all over other items in my dishwasher.

As a result, I've just thrown this in the trash, between the bad build quality and extremely poor design, it's not even worth seeking a replacement under warranty.

I'm now much happier with my replacement from another provider.

I had originally reviewed it a week or few days after purchase. And it was great in the beginning. 2 or 3 weeks in of use and it leaks bad!!! Also considering it was for a 6 year old for school use it has so so so many dents now. Even with the rubber cushion. We originally had some water bottle from Walmart and never ever had a dent in a whole year and he threw it everywhere, but I was tryna go lead free route thinking of my kids health and purchased this expensive water bottle for a 6 year old. 4 months in and it is dented bad even the rubber ripped. Good thing the button thing has not popped. But all in all. Maybe this is for an older kid who doesnt use it as much or doesnt put water bottle in backpack and is extra gentle with it.
Product Early Erosion

It's new and shiny, as it was a few short months ago. Let's be honest. The last 2 Hydroflask hot liquid thermoses eroded inside in fairly short order. I am a tea drinker and I get the tannins in the tea can be harsh, but I also rinse immediately each time I'm finished drinking and wash with soap daily. Further, I have an analogous steel Bodum brand my partner and I have used for 7 years, with absolutely no discoloration or incipient oxidation. Have a you contracted with a new asian factory recently? Many products have seen diminishing quality for this reason. My hydroflask 6 years ago is not the same hydroflask I have today, and I could list many other products that have undergone similar. There's no getting around it now. When I look in my cupboard and see the new hydroflask, I have let's say subconscious doubt about. Like, what may be emitting from the "steel" into my system as I drink.
But you may not need to concern yourselves with this. Many new users will be coming along, and with the contrived obsolescence of so many products, this may align with a general expectation. And, this assumes that my experience is not novel, although it may be... Thank you for your efficient response to my unfortunate experience... Best, G
[Rewarded Review] Disappointed

It's been awhile since I bought a new Hydroflask. First, I don't know if this is a new thing but I'm finding it very difficult unscrewing the lid, it is very tight. Then one day, I laid it on it's side on the passenger side in my car, only to discover that it had leaked all over. Thankfully it was just water but I was really disappointed. I never had this problem before. I don't know if it's a defect or if this is just the way they are now. In the past, I bought the 18oz. I thought I was buying the same thing but the 20oz is taller than the 18oz and doesn't fit under the water dispenser in the refrigerator. I'm really not loving my new Hydroflask. I've always been satisfied in the past.
